When we released Velocity Ultra, lots of people called it ‘Velocity Ultra HD’, but of course the PS Vita isn’t HD resolution, it’s 960×544 silly!
However, this is Velocity Ultra in HD 😀

We’ve partnered with the frankly wonderful people at Curve Studios to bring Velocity Ultra to PS3, and they’ve done an amazing job!
Here’s me getting very impressed with the PS3 build whilst over at Curve’s offices:

The explosions look beautiful on the big TV. Click the image and then zoom to see Velocity Ultra’s stylish artwork rendered in HD! Yum.

This screenshot is pretty badly compressed for some reason, but I can confirm that it looks great in motion 🙂

There’s no release date yet, but you’ll be able to buy Velocity Ultra on PS3 this year!
In the meantime, get yourself excited for Velocity 2X, the sequel to Velocity over here: www.velocitygame.co.uk

So glad to have a reason to play it through again, great news.
Velocity on the Vita is the one and only game I’ve obtained a platinum trophy.. and I predict the second will be the PS3 version.

is it crossbuy then? yeah an other plat for me also 🙂

Hiya Jordy,
We would have loved to have done both Cross Buy and Cross Save (we’re doing it for Velocity 2X), however there are good reasons why we can’t do it.
Cross Buy:
Since we (FuturLab) self published on PS Vita, and Curve Studios are publishing on PS3, it wouldn’t make any financial sense for Curve to publish if it were cross buy (because so many people got the PS Vita version for free on PlayStation Plus). We thought it was better to have the game on PS3 without cross buy than not at all. Hope you can understand this…
Cross Save:
Because the game is being published by different companies (which are both small with limited budgets to make this stuff happen), it would have been too much work to do cross save as it is a complicated process.
The game does however share trophies, as that is a painless process that both companies had enough time and resources to support!
Sorry if you’re disappointed by this, but again it’s the only options we had available!

I’m actually disappointed it shares trophies, (can’t please everyone eh?), but regardless I’m glad this is coming to the PS3 for others to enjoy.

We’re looking into whether it’s possible to reverse the decision. It may be too late/too expensive to do though 🙁
