To celebrate the launch of Velocity 2X on 2nd September, we’re collaborating on a Velocity Ultra race event with SpeedRunsLive!
SpeedRunsLive uses a clever irc-based system to set up races and hook up streams, so in order to participate in the race you will need to connect to their irc server ( irc.speedrunslive.com ) and join the #speedrunslive channel. For more details about this, check out the FAQ on their site. It should cover most things you need to get up and running.
Prizes
- Top five win Velocity 2X for PS4 and PS Vita.
- First place wins Velocity 2X for PS4 and PS Vita, a t-shirt of their choice and a signed poster of their choice.
Want to take part?
We’ve supplied a set of Steam keys to SpeedRunsLive to distribute. PM one of the administrators (details below) between now and Sunday night, and on Monday they will randomly select 20 winners and contact them by e-mail!

Just to be clear: 14:00 EST (note the S) isn’t the same as 18:00 GMT – it should either be 14:00EST/19:00GMT, 13:00EST/18:00GMT, or, what is probably meant, 14:00EST/18:00BST.

Good call! =)

Wait, I forgot one hour… 14 EST is the same as 18 GMT, I think. Just check it with some converter before making it official.

Oh my, the confusion.

This awesome guys!

Oh… I do have a question. Is this only for the PS3 version of the game or are those who are able to stream from their Vita allowed to participate as well?

“You are required to clear your game progress before the race”
Several people have had this question already, and it hasn’t been made clear on how to do this. How do we do this?
James @ FuturLab
The SpeedRunsLive team can help you with this. Hit them up on IRC or Twitter.
